Tumbak is handcrafted from banana fibre in a slow process by a family workshop specialized in basket weaving. The sturdy material is brought into the shape of a classic bulbous vase and the design is finished off with appliqués of lighter colored raffia at the top and bottom.

Vases made from woven natural materials such as tumbak are the perfect counterpart for dried flowers or palm fronds. With a suitable inner container, however, green plants can also be placed in there. This large vase, more than half a meter high, will definitely become one of the most eye-catching highlights in your home.
